Kokua Scholarship Opportunities (2023-2024)

Kokua is a word that means “to help”.  It is our goal to kokua and make Christian Education possible by helping ease the tuition burden for some of our families.

Po’ohala – can mean to carry on a family tradition or value, we pray that Christian Education is something that begins in Kindergarten and becomes a lifelong priority.  Many of our families are Emmanuel graduates who are now sending their children to our school!  

 

Po’ohala Scholarship #1: New Kindergarten Family Scholarship

This scholarship is available to one new Kindergarten family.  The amount is $2500.  

 

Po’ohala Scholarship #2: Preschool (ELP) Graduate to Kindergarten Scholarship.

This scholarship is available to one family with a graduating student from Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool.  The amount is $3000.

 

Ho’oikaika – means to work hard.  We want to help reward hard work.  It takes hard work and commitment to send children to Christian Schools.  We pray that the recipient of this scholarship will also work hard in return. 

 

Ho’oikaika Scholarship: - Elementary Grade Scholarship

This $3500 scholarship is available to one family of a current or new student entering Grades 1-5.  

 

‘Imi na’auao – means to seek knowledge – eager to learn.  We want to hear from eager learners as they tell us why they value a Christian Education at Emmanuel Lutheran.  

 

‘Imi na‘auao Scholarship:  Middle School Scholarship

This $4000 scholarship is available to one family of a current or new student entering Grades 6-8:   

 

Requirements for Application:

1. Complete a Financial Aid Application through FACTS (http://online.factsmgt.com/aid)  

         (These are need-based scholarships. The FACTS Management Company helps us determine the needs of               individual families)

2. Essay - Written by Parent (Kindergarten-8th) 

         Students in grades 3-8 will also be required to write their own short essay in their own words.

3. Completed Applications and Essays must be received by ELS by the April 15th deadline.

4. The ELS Financial Aid Committee will notify the award winners the first week in May.
