Fine Arts Night This Friday!

May 14th, 2025

Aloha ELS Families,

I just wanted to provide a little more detail about Friday night.  This is our first attempt at a Fine Arts Night.  We wanted to do something in lieu of a school musical this year.

  1. Please have students wear Aloha attire or their Sunday best. Like a Christmas Concert or a Musical, we are asking that all students be here for their scheduled performances.  I realize that prior commitments exist.  Please do your best to have your student here for their performance.  For 5th-8th grade students, scheduled performances are a part of their Choir grade.  Simply not wanting to sing is not valid for an excused absence :)  This will be the final choir performance of the year.

  1. You DO NOT have to be here the entire evening.  The classrooms will be open from 5:00-6:30 for you to look at artwork and projects.  Performances will take place in the church (5:30-7:00).  Each choir/band will perform a song or two.  We are not trying to gather everyone in the chapel at once, simply families of the group that is performing.  Some chairs will be provided but it will be mostly standing room to watch your child sing or play their instrument.

  1. We would like food to be dropped off between 5:00-5:30 so we can have people eating from 5:30-6:30.

    1. Last Name - A-K - Please bring a main dish to share

    2. Last Name - L-Z  - Please bring a side dish or dessert to share

    3. Utensils and Water will be provided.

  1. We invite you to bring chairs and blankets to relax outside when your child is not performing.  Enjoy some food and talk story with school families.

  1. Please do not allow students to go into classrooms unattended or use the playground downstairs.  Teachers will be busy gathering students for performances and monitoring classrooms.

We hope to return to the MACC in the future for Spring Musicals.  The cost of the facility has increased, so we decided to take a year off (that and Mrs. Fletcher, our director, had another baby).

Looking forward to some fun and fellowship on Friday evening!

In the event of inclement weather, we will make a decision about the Pā’ina.  If it is raining, we will determine the best course of action.
