Aloha ELS ‘Ohana,
Weekly Recap
Welcome to November!
This week at ELS, Preschool students explored rhyming words and recognizing the sound of their classmates' voices. The special person of the week invited me to share in the incredible Kindergarten buffet. 1st Grade was excited to play “capture the flag” during PE with Uncle Malik. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades were deeply engaged in Language Arts, practicing spelling words, writing paragraphs with strong topic sentences, using varied transition words, focusing on editing, as well as identifying compound subjects and predicates. 6th graders worked on filling out job applications in Life Skills, preparing for the upcoming task of filling out a 1040 form. They are nearly ready for the workforce! 7th graders reviewed the various States of Matter and the energy required for substances to change their natural state. Finally, 8th graders learned how Matrices can help solve multiple equations simultaneously.
