Principal's Weekly Letter

February 28, 2025

We DID IT!!

For the 5th year in a row we reached our goal, ($51,921 to be exact).  Thank you for the unbelievable support year after year.  These funds are helping ELS in so many ways.  We have purchased computer carts for nearly every classroom.  We have added some needed shade in preschool and in front of the modulars.  We have re-sodded the field (I know this was not as effective as we had hoped).  This year we need to purchase new furniture for some of our middle school classrooms (new tables/lockers).  This week we just found out the need to replace two AC units.  We are also looking into bids for a new field.  Long story short, your generous donations help us take care of so many needed things on our campus, things that are not always planned for in our school budget.  Congratulations to the 3rd Graders who edged out 2nd grade by just $5!  And, to Zeke and Hannah Kondo who tallied the highest individual totals!  AMAZING!

In the Classroom

On Monday of this week we welcomed lots of new prospective students during our Preschool Observation.  Kindergarteners were able to go to the HUB (local business owned by one of our parents) and do some neat artwork.  1st graders were busy with reading groups when I stopped in the teacher workroom.  2nd graders were doing some speed Math Drills.  3rd Graders were busy with reading and excited to hear the news that they were the class leaders for the FUN RUN!  4th Graders started their study on the book of Philippians while 5th graders were hearing the story of Daniel.  6th graders had to deal with a room that had no AC for a few days but not to worry it will be replaced on Wednesday!!  Thankfully the E+ room was available for the CPR lesson this afternoon.  7th graders learned about the division of the North and South and events leading to the Civil War.  8th graders were studying conditions that were best for mold to thrive.  Hopefully no one found their tests and threw them in the garbage.

Re-Enroll ASAP for 2025-2026 School Year

New Student Testing has started and many of our classes are already full for the 2025-2026 school year.  If you need to finish your re-enrollment of the 2025-2026 please do so as soon as possible.  The deadline for Financial Aid is March 17th.

Chapel Offerings

Our offerings for the 3rd quarter are over $500.  In addition, Emmanuel Lutheran Church has taken some free will donations (total do date almost $2400) and will give their quarterly mission pledge ($1000) to the Pacific Southwest District.  Altogether we are nearing $4000 to help those who have lost so much .  Thank you for your support!
