Principal's Weekly Letter - Nov. 21

November 21, 2025

Aloha ELS ‘Ohana,

REMINDER!  K-8 students will dismiss at 1:30 today with no after school care.  Students in Preschool will come to school for Friendsgiving with their special guests and leave with them at the conclusion of the festivities.

Weekly Recap

First off, thank you to all the 3rd and 4th families who joined us for worship this past Sunday.  The church reached maximum capacity.  We only have room for 150 chairs and 170 were in attendance!  It was certainly standing room only.  The kids sang beautifully and represented our school in an impressive manner.  Well done!

This week was filled with all sorts of activities.  Preschool is celebrating their annual “Friendsgiving”.  Students get to enjoy a feast with families and friends.  Kindergarteners had a week of activities with field trips and their Makahiki celebration.  1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th braved the weather and walked to MACC to see a beautiful cultural singing performance.  4th graders also finished a major book project and delivered Ulu meals to other classes.  Who knew Ulu animal crackers would be so delicious.  5th graders celebrated Thanksgiving with a special meal while 6th, 7th, and 8th graders filled their blessings boxes in the annual food drive competition.  We have so much to be grateful for here at ELS, so many reasons to “give thanks”.

Our total to date is $459.36.  These funds will go to support the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center and the Maui Food Bank.  In addition, many of our Blessing Boxes are filled to the brim.  Thank you for all of your generosity.

God’s Blessings to you this Thanksgiving!

Mr. Rempfer
