Principal's Weekly Letter - Oct. 2

Aloha ELS Ohana,


This weekly edition will be very short.  A few reminders, including Fall Festival Class Basket Information and Volunteer Sign Ups.  There is also information about Parent Teacher Conferences. This is also another friendly reminder that we will have early dismissal today, Thursday 10/02. Please be prompt in picking up your child.


Preschool Dismissal @ 11:15-11:30am - NO PRE+

K-8 Dismissal @ 1:30pm - NO E+


There is no school on Friday 10/03 as it is a Teacher Work Day!


Fall Festival 


There are a lot of ways for you to help this event be a success.

 

  1. Shift Volunteers - Click Here to sign up!

  2. Mystery Box Donations - I know we will have something from SCOTLAND this year!!  Please encourage your families living in various places to send a special package.

  3. Class Baskets - Each class will have a themed basket up for sale in the mini silent auction room.  Classroom teachers will collect the donations.  If you have any questions about Class Baskets, please contact Ms. Omura.  Below are the Classroom themes:

    1. Preschool - Snacks & Treats

    2. Kindergarten - Christmas Theme

    3. 1st Grade - Family Fun

    4. 2nd Grade - Pet Products

    5. 3rd Grade - Kitchen Products

    6. 4th Grade - Garden Products

    7. 5,6,7,8 - Gift Cards

  4. Last but not least we will again have a Fall Festival Plant Sale.  Below is a form to sign up in various ways to help with plant sale. Rhonda Felix has done a great job reaching out to local nurseries and getting this organized.  This is a great way to support the Fall Festival.

If you haven’t already, please visit the FACTS Family Portal and sign up for your students' Parent-Teacher Conferences to be held on October 16th & 17th.  Below are the steps to access the registration.  Contact your teacher if you have any issues.


  1. Visit FACTS Family Portal and Login

  2. Click on the Calendar Tab on the left.

  3. Click on the “My Classes” Tab at the top of the calendar

  4. Navigate to October 16th and click on the Event.

  5. Read the event details and click the “Register” button at the bottom.

  6. Select a time that is suitable for you and click Register.
