Aloha ELS ‘Ohana,
Weekly Recap
Preschoolers were enjoying some play time, getting ready for a bear hunt, and practicing their counting skills.
Kindergarten - I was able to snap a picture with some friends wearing aloha attire. I also heard some students reading out loud (very impressive). They were able to tell me when to use “a” and “an” in a sentence. Great work!
1st Grade - Students were carefully working in the phonics workbook and had just finished a discussion about identifying the main topic in a story.
2nd graders were finishing up a test on a story they had just read. Some students were also working on an activity where they had to identify things they do well on.
3rd Graders were carefully practicing writing letters in cursive. Handwriting is still important!
4th graders finished up some reading in their current novel and were doing a Kahoot activity to test their comprehension.
5th Graders were correcting their math lesson and moving on to the next.
6th Grade - Learned about the difference between gross income and net income and realized that bills take up a good chunk of your paycheck.
7th Graders - helped greet students and families with some encouraging words this morning. Hopefully you were able to read their kind words this morning.
8th Graders - Were prepping for a History Test while reviewing their study guide together.
Volleyball Season Ends
The volleyball teams fought hard last Saturday but the tournament set-up only allowed for one game (not even 3 sets). We weren’t able to rally back and the season came to a close. Thank you to all who participated (over 25 students) and a special thank you to Ms. Jordynn and Mrs. Lewis for coaching. We are also grateful for our parent volunteers and to those who made quite a few trips to the west side for early morning games. Thank you for a great season!
Fall Wreaths Still Available for ONE MORE WEEK!
If you would like to purchase any wreaths still available after the Fall Festival, please use this link. The link has pictures of the wreaths and an opportunity to pay online. The online pay will require a “shipping address” but the wreath will be available at school.
