Principal's Weekly Letter - Sept. 26

September 26, 2025

Week 5 Highlights

Preschoolers enjoyed PE with Ms. Jordynn.  They also learned about various types of apples and had special visitors for lunch on Friday.  Kindergarteners had a blast getting active with Uncle Malik during PE.  First graders focused on using proper spacing between words in sentences.  Second graders honed their writing skills by using spelling words to craft creative sentences. They also engaged in practical math, measuring and estimating the lengths of various classroom objects.

Third graders began their journey into division, learning terms like divisor and dividend. They also excelled with their memory verse and worked on compound and complex sentences in Language Arts.  Fourth graders diligently worked through a healthy Language Arts packet, focusing on sentence stretches and spelling word practice.  Fifth graders explored unique spellings for plural nouns and took a musical symbols test in band.  Sixth graders continued their study of the Earth’s core, watching an insightful video about the activity beneath Yellowstone volcano.  Seventh graders connected with kindergarteners for book buddies, fostering positive interactions between older and younger students.  Eighth graders delved into Chapter 16 of History, taking notes on the Reconstruction Era following the Civil War.

Lunch Update

Please check the website for more information.  Simply Local has jumped right in and we would love to increase our support for this local business.  If you are interested in ordering lunch, just give them a call!  (808) 640-7747  You can order for the entire year, month or simply go a week at a time.  The monthly and yearly options are available with a pretty significant discount.  Just a reminder that refunds will not be offered.  Simply Local also has an EveryDay Menu available.  These options can be ordered instead if your child does not prefer the school lunch option.  Take a look at the prices and options on the website.

***Upon returning to school following Fall Break we have been asked to spread the word that Simply Local will not be accepting any late school lunch orders. Please place your orders by Wednesday @ 7pm for the following week of lunch service.

Fall Festival

Shift Sign-Ups are now available!!  Please Click Here.

There are a lot of ways for you to help this event be a success.

  1. Shift Volunteers

  2. Mystery Box Donations - I know we will have something from SCOTLAND this year!!  Please encourage your families living in various places to send a special package.

  3. Class Baskets - Each class will have a themed basket up for sale in the mini silent auction room.  Classroom teachers will let you know what the theme is and collect the donations.  If you have any questions about Class Baskets, please contact Ms. Omura.

  4. Last but not least we will again have a Fall Festival Plant Sale.  Below is a form to sign up in various ways to help with plant sale. Rhonda Felix has done a great job reaching out to local nurseries and getting this organized.  This is a great way to support the Fall Festival.

My apologies for the little hiccup on Wednesday (also a rushed, grammatically poor correction email).  If you have any questions about signing up for conferences please reach out to your classroom teachers.

Chapel Offerings - Quarter 1 Update

Q1 Chapel Offerings - $645.86.  We are glad to be able to support Mission for Christ as they share the good news about Jesus in another part of the world.  With some support from ELC, we will be able to send a missionary close to $4000!

Check It Out!

An opportunity for Hula.  This was shared by one of our families if anyone is interested in this extra curricular activity.

Pick Up - Drop Off

We have settled into a pretty good rhythm.  I feel like I recognize almost all the cars.  Thank you for pulling as far down as possible at these times.  Thank you also for being patient.  Please continue to drive slowly and cautiously as you pick up and drop off.

God’s Blessings on your weekend! Look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday!

Mr. Rempfer
