Principal's Weekly Letter

January 10th, 2025

This week at ELS

It was a blessing to have everyone back on campus this week.  We are working our way back into school rhythms and routines.  In Preschool, we welcomed some new faces (students and aides).  In Kindergarten students were working on the short e sound and correctly writing their letters.  In first grade Mrs. Sjostrand was discussing how to correctly use “is” and “are” when writing sentences.  In 2nd grade they were completing some additional problems with numbers in the 1000’s.  3rd graders were in reading centers working on spelling words and short stories.  4th graders were learning about various Language Arts terms like alliteration, idioms, cliches, and personification.  5th graders were working away on their Zearn math lessons with fractions.  6th graders were glad to welcome back Mrs. Fletcher after her maternity leave.  7th graders worked on some graphing in Math.  8th graders were solving systems of equations in Algebra, learning how you can solve equations with 2 variables.

1st Annual ELS Golf Tournament

On June 14th, ELS will be hosting its first annual golf tournament at the Dunes Golf Course.  In order to run a successful and profitable event, it is important to start planning early.  We would like to form a committee to help with the planning process.  Please contact the school office if you are interested in being a part of this committee.  We will have our first meeting at the end of the month.  More details and information to follow.

Re-Enrollment for 2025

It is that time of year!  All the information you need can be found HERE.  Current families will have a priority enrollment window beginning now and ending February 17th.  After that date, we will begin contacting families on the waiting list.

Report Cards

Report Cards for the 2nd quarter went home this week.  If you did not receive a report card, please contact your child’s teacher.

Looking forward to a great 2nd semester!
