This week at ELS
I saw preschoolers with huge smiles enjoying the octopus see-saw, listening intentionally during story time, and having a little snack time. Kindergarteners were actively playing during PE with Uncle Malik. I love seeing students run with ear to ear grins. 1st graders learned about the compass rose and the phrase “never eat soggy waffles”. 2nd graders took a field trip to compliment their most recent water unit in Science. 3rd graders are getting better with their Ukuleles. I stopped in 4th grade this week for a little discussion about active listening. 5th graders continued reading The Westing Game and a certain 5th grader reached an AR Milestone. She will be recognized at chapel next Wednesday. 6th graders showed off their band skills for Mrs. Rolf. 7th graders were learning about the properties of heat and how heat is transferred. 8th graders learned how to write equations for algebraic functions. The week just seemed to fly by and we are already half way through November.
